Speech Gradebook — Last updated: March 2025 (FERPA Compliance Update)

By using Speech Gradebook (“the application”), you agree to use it in accordance with these terms and with your institution’s policies where applicable.

Use of the service

Speech Gradebook is provided for educational use. You are responsible for your account and for ensuring that your use of the application (including evaluation of student work and storage of data) complies with FERPA, your institution's policies, and applicable law.

SpeechGradebook implements comprehensive FERPA compliance features, including automatic audit logging of all student data access, role-based access controls, encryption of sensitive data, and data retention policies. All access to student educational records is logged and can be reviewed by authorized administrators for compliance purposes.

Acceptable use

You may not use the application to violate any law, infringe others’ rights, or misuse student or institutional data. You must obtain any required consent (e.g. student data-use consent) before using the application in a manner that involves sharing or processing that data as described in the application.

AI and third-party services

Evaluations may use third-party AI services or a fine-tuned model. Use of those services may be subject to their respective terms. The application does not guarantee the accuracy of AI-generated feedback; instructors remain responsible for grading and feedback decisions.
